I enjoy how my ”tumblarity” equates my unpopularity into a number.
Good Sounds
While looking for a job I’ve been listening to A LOT of music so I decided to buy some new headphones. I got some Sennheiser HD595’s. They are amazing, seriously. You have no idea how much you are missing if you’re still using those old speakers or headphones. Get some good headphones, you will thank me later.
From there I started reading about audio from a PC and joined the forum over at Head-Fi.org. After a bit of research I realized I needed a way of converting the digital info from my hard drive into analog for my headphones. This is normally done by a soundcard. But to cut costs (and depending on what kind of card you have) most soundcards do so really, really poorly. What you need is a quality digital to analog converter, or DAC. And you will also need an amplifier. Luckily there are plenty of companies that combine these two in to one neat device. I bought an iBasso DAC/amp from iBasso.com that plugs right in using USB and requires minimal setup.
My final setup: flac > foobar2k media player > USB DAC > headphones
If you are a music lover and have a few extra dollars to spend on a quality system I highly recommend it. It was well worth it for me. I seriously can’t take these headphones off my head.
Jim Simons. Smart guy.
Butch Cassidy: If he’d just pay me what he’s spending to make me stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.
